SPLASH Aquatics

Welcome to SPLASH Aquatics at VENT Fitness! Available at VENT Latham and VENT Guilderland, our SPLASH Aquatics include Swimming Lessons for ages six months – adult, special needs and adaptive lessons, US Masters Swim for developing and improving aquatics skills, and Aqua Classes for fitness in the water. All Aquatics programming is open to both members and non-members; fees may apply.

POOL HOURS: Mon – Thurs: 5 a.m. – 9 p.m. • Fri: 5 a.m. – 8 p.m. • Sat & Sun: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

SPLASH Pool Schedule

VENT Fitness offers a variety of Aqua Programs for adults, as well as Swimming Lessons for children and adults. In addition, we also offer a variety of aqua fitness classes. Check out the schedules below for more details!

Rules for SPLASH Pool Use*:

  • Please rinse yourself off at the pool-side shower before entering the pool.
  • If there’s an empty lane, swim in it.
  • If there is no empty lane, please check with swimmer before entering it.
  • Two swimmers share by swimming parallel in a lane.
  • Private lessons may be scheduled at any time, and when in session will utilize one lane.

General Pool Rules

  • Users must read and follow all posted rules and must follow lifeguard and staff instructions when requested. 

  • A cleansing shower is REQUIRED before entering the pool.

  • Never swim alone.

  • A minimum of two or more adults, 18 years of age or older, must be present at the pool when this swimming facility is in use, with at lease one adult on the pool deck.

  • In an emergency, notify the facility operator and contact help as soon as possible.  A free telephone is provided at this facility. If can be found poolside by the men’s locker room door.  Telephone numbers for the nearest emergency medical service are posted.

  • Appropriate swim attire is required. (i.e. no shorts/pants or revealing swimwear)

  • No swimmer with open sores, infection, or contagious diseases may use the pool.

  • No spitting, urinating or defecating in the pool, or on the deck.

  • Do not use the pool if you or your child have had diarrhea in the previous 2 weeks.

  • No glass, cans, food, gum, or beverages (except plastic water bottles) are allowed on the pool deck.

  • Diving from any part of the pool deck is strictly prohibited. Shallow Water.

  • No flips, twists, or back diving into the pools.

  • No running, pushing, horse playing or other high-risk behavior in the pool area.

  • Courtesy is expected of all pool patrons at all times. The use of foul language and/or explicit behavior or excessive noise offensive to others will not be tolerated.

  • If you use any pool equipment, please put them away when exiting the pool.

  • No alcohol, use of drugs, or smoking in the pool area; those under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave.

  • Kickboards, pull-buoys, and aqua-jogging belts are not to be used as flotation devices.

  • Swimmers are not permitted to hang on the lane lines.

  • Lifeguards may expel any patron who does not conform to the rules listed herein or posted in the area.

  • Elderly persons, and those suffering form heart disease, diabetes, high or low blood pressure should prohibit from using the spa.

  • Observe a reasonable time limit (eg. 15 minutes), then shower, cool down and if you wish, return for another brief stay. Long exposure may result in nausea, dizziness, or fainting.

  • Must be 16 or older to use STEAM/SAUNA

  • A cleansing shower is REQUIRED before entering the spa or pool after using the Sauna or Steam room.

  • A minimum of two or more adults, 18 years of age or older, must be present at the pool when this swimming facility is in use, with at least one adult on the pool deck.

  • In an emergency, notify the facility operator and contact help as soon as possible.  A free telephone is provided at this facility. If can be found poolside by the men’s locker room door.  Telephone numbers for the nearest emergency medical service are posted.

  • Appropriate swim attire is required. (i.e. no shorts/pants or revealing swimwear)

  • No bather with open sores, infection, or contagious diseases may use the Splash area.

  • No spitting, urinating or defecating in the steam room, sauna, spa, or on the deck.

  • No glass, cans, food, gum, or beverages (except plastic water bottles) are allowed in the Splash area.

  • Courtesy is expected of all pool patrons at all times. The use of foul language and/or explicit behavior or excessive noise offensive to others will not be tolerated.

  • No alcohol, use of drugs, or smoking in the pool area; those under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave.

  • Lifeguards may expel any patron who does not conform to the rules listed herein or posted in the area.

  • Please notify all swimmers in a lane when you wish to join before entering the lane.
  • Please be courteous and responsive if you are asked to move lanes by a lifeguard. VENT Fitness staff have final say in lane placement if a problem arises.
  • If you use kickboards or pull buoys, please put them away when exiting the pool.

  • Please be respectful of others. Lap swim lanes are intended for those who wish to swim using any stroke that will not impede another swimmer.

  • Split lane swimming is appropriate when there are two people in a lane.
  •  Swim Counter-Clockwise when there are three or more people in a lane.

  • When the pool is busy, it is important to use the lane most similar to your type of swimming.

  • When resting on the wall – move to the outside corner to allow other swimmers to pass easily.

League Play:

  • Play will be conducted in accordance with the 2020-2021 New York State High School Association (NFHS) with the following modifications:
  • Game will be running time for two 20 minute halves with a stop clock the last two minutes at the end of game
  • Game clock will be provided by VENT Fitness and maintained/monitored by the scorekeeper
  • Each team is allowed four 75 second timeouts per game (unused timeouts do NOT run over into overtime play)
  • Substitutes should report to the scorers table then wait to be whistled into the game
  • Teams may be asked to play more than one game per day/night

Safety:

  • Leg/arm braces must be wrapped in tape (NO metal showing)
  • No loose jewelry (necklaces bracelets etc.) allowed
  • Gym shorts with zippers/pockets are NOT ALLOWED to be worn during games
  • Must wear provided VENT Jersey during games

Responsibilities:

  • All members of the team are familiar with the contents
  • All members know game schedule and plan to attend
  • Call VENT Fitness Guilderland to cancel if necessary
  • Team is properly attired
  • Team conduct is in accordance with this document
  • No ineligible players are entered on roster or participant in games

Forfeits:

  • A forfeit will be declared if a team is not prepared to play at the scheduled time.
  • The team sort of players may pick up players so both teams can play but the game will be forfeited and the outcome will not count toward league standing
  • If you know you are not going to have 6 players, please call the League Coordinator to cancel

Cancellation Policy:

  • To cancel a game, call the League Coordinator at least 24 hours prior to game time

Contraband:

  • Drugs, alcohol, smoking, and chewing tobacco are NOT permitted on the court, in the facility or parking lot. Any player or coach under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to enter the facility

Sportsmanship:

  • Any rough contacting, foul language, taunting, verbal intimidation, trash talk, objectionable demonstrations, throwing equipment are grounds for a technical foul and at the referee’s discretion, ejection from the game and possible league and/or cancellation of VENT Membership
